Junior Team Tennis League is on fire in Castro Valley!

The CV Junior Team Tennis (CVJTT) is a non-traveling team experience for girls and boys, age 9-17.   We play on Sundays during the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer from 3:00 – 4:30.  USTA Junior Team Tennis is a national youth tennis league played in all 50 states. It’s not about the individual. USTA Junior Team Tennis is all about building your game while building a team.

Kids get together to play singles, doubles, and mixed doubles against other teams. It promotes values you would expect from any sport by fostering a spirit of cooperation, unity and individual self-growth. Also, it’s a fun environment for kids where they learn that succeeding is really more about how you play the game – win or lose.

Each season, the league members are placed onto a team.  Every week the player scores points for themselves and for their team.  At the end of the season, the winning team receives a medal, as well as the most improved player. For more detailed information, e-mail Suzi at

April 29, 2012 – Castro Valley Junior Tennis league welcomes Lisa Dodson, creator of the Total Serve, who gave us a lesson on serving.

With tennis racquets, balls and courts that are sized right, and play that is appropriate, kids build confidence, improve their skills and stay active.  Players participate at their level against opponents of similar skills.  The emphasis is placed on:

  • Participation
  • Effort
  • Sportsmanship

This low key competition is organized in a format to allow children to play again and again, whether they win or lose.  Matches are short in duration, players are grouped by ability and game modifications allow each child to experience success.  The kids play multiple matches both with and against a variety of players; serving, rally and scoring over a net. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please contact Suzi Mills at (510) 881-5840 or at for information about the Castro Valley Junior Tennis League. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HIGHLIGHTS from 2011: 11/13/11 Doubles Tournament – Congratulations to the players who participated in the doubles tournament for ages 7-8: Eddie Bakovic, Miranda Becquet, Caitlyn Cu, Mikella Diegert, Ava Eagan, Emma Fogle, Beckman Hart, Kyla Metchette and Pater Tanaka.
